Horton the elephant discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many “thinks.” Horton decides he must protect the speck of dust on a nearby clover, while at the same time protecting an abandoned egg left to him by Lazy Mayzie la Bird. Horton tries to convince the other animals in The Jungle of the existence of the Whos, but he is ridiculed and put on trial for insanity. Will his true and loyal friend, Gertrude McFuzz, be able to save him? This festive evening will ring in the yuletide cheer with over 200 musicians performing under the baton of Music Director and Conductor Gary Lewis. Sounds of the Season showcases the artistry of the Symphony Orchestra, joined by the Symphony Chorale, Voices of the Permian Basin Youth Choir, Lone Star Brass, Permian Basin String Quartet and the West Texas Winds. Audiences will enjoy a special performance by Santa and Mrs. Claus played by Odessa’s highly talented couple Scott & Nikki Windham!
